I’ll answer your question now:Yes, Cate is my last name.
When I graduated with my music education degree in 2018, I knew two things for certain:
- I never wanted to teach music to kids.
- I had absolutely no idea what I was doing.
A great way to start adulthood, right?
I moved back to my hometown with no vision, just a willingness to say yes to whatever came my way. Over the next few years, this led to a handful of design clients, a stint at a vegan bakery, a job completely revitalizing and re-envisioning the creative direction of a dying church, and role working with nonprofits across the country.
I’ve learned to leverage my skill of flexibility into a willingness to say yes to opportunities presented to me, even if they might be out of my comfort zone. Not knowing how to do something has never stopped me from trying (a skill helpful as an adult, even though it gave my mom many a headache as a child).
I have over seven years of experience in rebranding, running social media accounts, creating content and designing for churches and small businesses, as well as over ten years of experience leading worship for large groups. But while I was finishing my degree, I realized that my true passion is seeing creative excellence come alive in the telling of good stories, whether that be through music, spaces, or visuals.
We all have a story that we tell – through our history, our dreams, and our future plans.
I’d love to help you tell yours.

You’ll hardly ever find me without an iced coffee in hand, and I’ve been known to cut off conversations when a cute dog walks by. When I’m not doing creative work, you can find me doing something hands on – gardening, rock climbing, or baking, most likely. I’m also currently training for a 10K, so if I cross your mind, pray for me.
